Neuro-Affirming Narratives” is a group of neurodivergent tween/teens who gather weekly throughout the summer. It is a one-of a kind therapeutic service that is proudly neurodiversity affirming, sensory-informed and allows students work on individual communication goals while also… engaging within a group dynamic, explore social relationships and celebrate their personal identities. Participants will finish the series having created a book of their own interests, strengths, goals and values.

This service is offered in partnership with Thriving Families Psychological Services (enrollment fees are billed to your private insurance), and each session is co-led by a speech therapist and a clinical psychologist. Sessions will be hosted at the Thriving Families Ypsilanti office, and sessions will be scheduled on Thursday throughout summer 2026.

The Sensory Leadership Project is a social group designed specifically for neurodivergent tweens/teens to collaborate on meaningful hands-on projects. This group gathers weekly and is a one-of a kind therapeutic service. It is proudly neurodiversity affirming, sensory-informed and allows students work on individual communication goals while also… engaging within a group dynamic, fostering peer relationships, inspiring a sense of leadership, exercising executive functioning skills, boosting self-confidence and becoming involved in the community.

This service is offered in partnership with Feed the Need Sensory Zone (participation is ideal for the “messy middle” homeschool co-op members, but registration is also open to anyone in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti community interested in joining). The first project is to design and create custom apparel, which will be featured in student run pop-up shops around the community. Reach out for information on getting started- the very first group begins in Fall 2026, schedule aligned with the school year!
