benefits of self-pay
-
control the service frequency & duration
You are in control of the frequency and duration of your child's speech therapy. This decision is based, solely, on what is in the best interest of your child, not on an insurance company's policy.
-
therapy goals can be Personalized
My private fees reflect more time spent with my clients and planning for their sessions -- not dealing with insurance companies and their rules and regulations. I am able to take a much more personalized approach to each client's needs.
-
flexible payment Options
You can use your HSA/FSA funds for speech therapy costs. This is a great option that gives you the flexibility and freedom of private pay services without paying "out-of-pocket."
-
diagnosis free access
Some insurance policies only cover certain medical conditions or diagnoses, so your child may not be "eligible" for services, according to your insurance company.
-
cost effective
If you have a high deductible, your payments can often be much higher than private pay rates, so you'll be paying more out of pocket, initially. Depending on how high your deductible is, it may make more financial sense to go with private pay to maximize the number of sessions your child can receive before reaching your deductible.
-
reimbursement options
You can also submit Superbills to your insurance company for possible reimbursement for services (depending on your plan's Out-Of-Network speech therapy coverage.). Again, this gives you the flexibility and freedom of private pay services without losing out on at least some insurance coverage.
